Hotel The Benett Arms, Shaftesbury
122, Shaftesbury, SP7 9AS, United Kingdom
Description
There have been exciting changes at the Benett Arms. The pub is now a Free house and now stocks up to six local real ales. We are also in the Good Beer Guide 2010.The five letting rooms have been fully refurbished with stylish new décor and luxurious bathrooms. Some things however have not changed. Apart from necessary remedial work and decorating the fabric of the 16th Century pub remains charming if slightly quirky. We do not have pool tables, juke boxes or wide screen TVs, but we do have roaring log fires and good conversation. Our cook Joyce still produces good, wholesome food just as she has since 1965!The Benett Arms sits in an idyllic location opposite the village green and pond in a designated Area of Outstanding natural Beauty. We are situated just down the road from Old Wardour Castle and Shaftesburys famous Gold Hill (as featured in the Hovis adverts) and within easy reach of Stonehenge, Longleat and Salisbury. The Benett Arms is also well placed as a base for exploring the beautiful Dorset countryside and coastline including the World Heritage Site Jurassic coast.
