The airline was founded in 2003 with the name Air Polonia Cargo Sp. z o.o. It began its operations in April April 2004. It was successively renamed Sky Express Sp. z o.o. In June 2007 it started operating scheduled passenger flights under the name Direct Fly. In February 2008, with the doundation of the SprintAir Group, it permanently changed its name to SprintAir.
