Qantas Airways Limited, founded in 1920, is the flagship airline of Australia as well as the country’s largest. The name QANTAS is an acronym for "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services". Nicknamed "The Flying Kangaroo," the airline is based in Sydney, where it also has its hub in Sydney international airport. Qantas is the second oldest airline in the world, and the oldest in the English-speaking world, operating national and international flights over a vast network of destinations. In 2007 Qantas was voted the fifth best airline in the world by Skytrax, and second in 2005 and 2006. Qantas is a member of the Oneworld alliance, its frequent flyer program is "Qantas Frequent Flyer".
