EgyptAir, founded on 7 June 1932 as Misr Airwork and operational since June 1933, is the Egyptian flagship airline. The company is headquartered in the EgyptAir Administrative Complex, on the grounds of Cairo International Airport. EgyptAir is wholly owned by the Egyptian government, and from 11 July 2008 is a member of Star Alliance. EgyptAir operates passenger flights to domestic destinations in Egypt, as well as international flights to many destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Its hub is located in the Cairo International (CAI) Airport, while other secondary bases are located on the airports of Borg El Arab, Hurghada, Luxor and Sharm el-Sheikh.
