British Airways is the flag carrier as well the United Kingdom largest airline. Also known simply as BA, was founded on March 31, 1974 born from the merger of British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) and British European Airways (BEA). The company headquarter is based in Waterside, Harmondsworth, England. The main airports used as bases by British Airways are London-Heathrow (LHR) and London-Gatwick (LGW). BA is the airline that offers a higher number of connections between Europe and North America. British Airways is a founding member of the Oneworld Alliance, offers an extensive network of connections between major destinations in the world which led her to serve over 150 destinations (excluding subsidiaries and code-share), with a strong focus on the North American market. On January 21, 2011 British Airways and Iberia completed the merger and has created the second largest airline group in Europe (International Airlines Group - IAG).
