Binter Canarias, founded in 1988 and operational from 26th of March 1989, is a spanish regional airline based in Telde, Gran Canaria island (Canary Islands). Binter Canarias has been part of the Iberia Group until 2002, when it was bought by a group of Canarian private investors. Binter flies on all 8 airports in the Canary Islands, also flights to some international destinations in Morocco and Portugal. Its most important operational bases are located at airports in Las Palmas (LPA), Santa Cruz de La Palma (SPC) and Tenerife Norte (TFN). Binter Canarias has been named best European regional airline in 2005, and also received the award for the best airline 2010/2011 by European Regions Airline Association (ERA).
