Aegean Airlines flights and customer reviews

Aegean Airlines was founded as Aegean Aviation in 1987; in 1992 it was the first company to receive a Greek air operator’s license. Aegean Airlines, a member of Star Alliance, is Greece’s largest airline providing full service, premium quality short and medium haul scheduled flights to its passengers. In 2013 AEGEAN acquired Olympic Air and as a result, passengers have increased flight frequencies and connections as well as improved accessibility to Greece’s islands, including some of the more remote ones, both for visitors and Greeks alike. The total traffic of both companies reached 10.1m passengers in 2014 and is expected to reach 11.6m in 2015. AEGEAN invests in strengthening its international presence and in supporting Greek tourism both in Athens and in regional airports. The company’s 2015 timetable included a network of 134 destinations and 15.1m available seats, and for 2016 the company is expected to operate 149 destinations in 45 countries. The flights will be operated with one of the youngest fleets in Europe, comprising 58 aircraft, including AEGEAN’s recent investment in new Airbus A320ceos. AEGEAN has been honoured with the Skytrax World Airline award, as the best European regional airline for 2015. It is the sixth time that the company hs received this distinction, the previous times being in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and in 2014.
