Pakistan International Airlines, founded on 23 October 1946 under the name Orient Airways, commonly known as PIA, is the flagship carrier airline of Pakistan, based in Karachi. State-owned, PIA is one of the largest airlines in Asia for size, operating national and international passenger flights in an extensive network of destinations in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. PIA’s main hubs are Jinnah airport in Karachi, Allama Iqbal airport in Lahore and Islamabad International airport in Islamabad/Rawalpindi. The secondary hubs are Peshawar International, Faisalabad International, Quetta International and Multan International airports. Its frequent flyer program is "PIA Awards Plus +".
