AeroSvit Airlines, founded on 25 March 1994, operating under the name Aerosvit Ukrainian Airlines, is a Ukrainian airline based in Kiev. It is the largest airline in the country, operating national scheduled flights over a large network of destinations and international medium haul flights to Europe and long haul to China, India, Thailand, Canada and the United States. In addition, AeroSvit operates charter flights, its main hub is Boryspil (KBP) airport in Kiev. AeroSvit Airlines bankruptcy procedure began in December 2012 and in January 2013, the airline ceased its operations.

“Had a fight from Kyiv to NY on January 16th, 2011. Called their official reps in Kyiv a day prior tto my fligt to confirm the time of the flight as I saw compalints about the company aired on Ukrainian news a few days earlier - the rep cpnfirmed the time of my flight. I travelled 4 hours to the airport for 1pm flight the next day - when I got to the airport, the information said it got delayed till 9,30 pm - was flying business class, they did not even bother to call me and warn me. I mention that I flew business class - for you to realize that not only economy class, they do not bother warning about the delay the business class customers!!!!! The reps were rude, were playing on their cells while talking to me, did not bother explaining the reason of the delay (btw, it was not due to weather conditions - no snow in Ukraine or NY) - outrages!!!!! It was terrible, we got stuck in the uncomfortable airport for 10 hours. The only satisfaction of teh trip - the crew was extra nice due to the delay. Next time, I will rather fly to Ukraine next time with a trasfer somewhere in Europe than use this airline again.”
