Its first commercial flights were between Athens, Heraklion, Crete and Thessaloniki. Its main hub is Eleftherios Venizelos airport in Athens, its secondary hub is the Thessaloniki airport. Aegean Airlines operates flights between the more important Greek destinations and in several European cities, especially in Germany. In 2000, Aegean Airlines bought Air Greece.
