Scandinavian Airlines System, now SAS AB, is a real multinational, in fact the flagship airline of Sweden, Denmark and Norway. It is based in Stockholm, in Sweden. SAS is among the founders of the Star Alliance. The hubs of reference are Arlanda airport in Stockholm, Kastrup airport in Copenaghen and Gardermoen airport in Oslo. The company was founded in 1946, on the basis of an agreement between the three flagship airlines of Sweden, Denmark and Norway who decided to form a joint venture to develop intercontinental air transport to and from the Scandinavian countries. The company gradually acquired the control of local traffic by buying local airlines. SAS offers domestic and international scheduled flights to a wide network of destinations, its frequent flyer program is "EuroBonus", while the airport lounges are Scandinavian Lounge and Business Lounge.
