Kingfisher Airlines, founded in 2003, is an Indian airline based in Andheri, Mumbai, India. It is the second largest airline in the country with more than 200 flights daily. It operates national and regional flights, including low cost flights, with the aim of expanding to international routes. Its main hubs are in the airports of Bangalore International, Chhatrapati Shivaji, in Mumbai, Hyderabad International and Indira Gandhi International, in Delhi. Kingfisher is one of the only seven world airlines to have a 5 star rating with Skytrax. In October 2012, due to a strong financial crisis, Kingfisher Airlines has strongly reduced the number of aircraft in its fleet and destinations operated. Kingfisher Airlines ceased operations on february 2013 (licence revoked).
